Expectations of Participants

Expectations of Participants Participants in the All-State Lions Band represent both Lions of Pennsylvania and their home schools.  We expect all participants to comport themselves with dignity and respect for others at all times.

Our trip is geared to experiential learning and we have tight timetables for our activities.  It is imperative that students demonstrate an ability and cooperativeness to follow directions.  This includes being on time at specific locations, prepared for the activity to follow.  Safety of students is the most important factor.

Quite simply, band staff must trust that students will follow directions for their personal safety and the safety of others.

There are some specific rules to follow, including:
  • Be on time – early is on time and on time is late!
  • Act with dignity and respect for others at all times (this includes respect for our host facilities and hotels)
  • Everyone must eat breakfast and all meals provide
  • Everyone must attend all group activities

While we have never had a serious issue while on tour, the following items are expressly prohibited and may be cause for a participant to be sent home at their own expense:
  • Participants involved in extremely disruptive, uncooperative or offensive behavior
  • Participants possessing weapons or dangerous objects
  • Possession of or use of mind-altering drugs or alcohol
  • Males in female rooms/females in male rooms
  • Engaging in illegal activity
