Mission and Goals
The Pennsylvania Lions All-State Band provides opportunities for high-school age musicians across Pennsylvania to come together for musical growth and performance experience. The ensemble encourages participants to learn more about themselves and each other through rehearsals as well as travel and touring to locations in Pennsylvania and internationally.
- The Lions All-State Band delivers an exceptional musical experience in all genres, including concert band, jazz band and marching band.
- The Lions All-State Band engages participants in a fun but challenging rehearsal period, which strengthens their musical skills both as individual players and as members of an ensemble.
- The Lions All-State Band exemplifies the motto of Lions International: “We Serve.” Through service projects, performances at hospitals and retirement homes, and other events, students communicate their love of music to people in need and learn more about helping others.
- The Lions All-State Band offers participants the chance to develop social skills by building relationships with other students from many backgrounds across Pennsylvania. Participants cultivate lasting friendships and hone their self-reliance while away from home.

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization. We have 1.35 million members in more than 46,000 clubs worldwide. Lions are everywhere. We're men and women who are active in community projects in more than 208 countries and geographic areas.
Lions have a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, we are best known for fighting blindness – it's part of our history as well as our work today. Lions are active. Our motto is "We Serve." Lions are part of a global service network, doing whatever is necessary to help our local communities. Lions serve youth. Our community projects often support local children and schools through scholarships, recreation and mentoring. Internationally, we offer many programs, including the Peace Poster Contest, Youth Camps and Exchange, Lions Bands (like us!), and Lions Quest. Our Leo Program provides personal development through youth volunteer opportunities. There are approximately 144,000 Leos and 5,700 Leo clubs in more than 140 countries worldwide. |
